For this post I have selected to talk about
an advert that I came across for LG Ultra HD TV technology. In the advert they
used a very large TV situated as an office window, they then show on the TV
what looks to be a cityscape. Due to the amazingly high quality of the screen
this appears too believable and real to the visitors of the office. The advert then continues to show a meteor
attack in the city, which is shown again to be fully believable to the office visitors,
again demonstrating the high quality screen. Through the use on comedy between
the advert and the viewer it is able to grab certainly my attention and many
others I am sure. The way they have manipulated the subject into the prank
using the exaggerated truth of the screens quality, to make them become lost in
in realness, like it is just reality. The ever trend of who and where the next
big thing in TV’s is always a big talking point, and will remain to be. But LG
advert creators here have demonstrated a great understanding of what exactly
the user wants, to feel that their TV is good enough to look, real. Like they
are watching life its self, and this advert just get that. Whether this prank
has been acted out or it was actually done for real is not the point, I think
that I has been executed almost perfectly, and could fully make me believe that
LG Ultra HD TV technology is the way forward, the future.
