I have chosen a story here about a advert
that has been banned from UK TV before 19:30, because its too sexual. Robin
Thicke has starred in a new advert for the Beats Pill. The new advert is based
on Thicke’s already very controversial music video for the song Blurred Lines.
The music video its self had been banned from TV and YouTube for being over
sexual and so a less explicit version was created. The advert is based on the less explicit version of the music video, but in the case for TV showing was still banned before the
curfew on 19:30. The reason it has been
banned is because it is believed to be overlay sexual and subject towards
women. Personally I think that the advert is fine, yes maybe it’s because I’m
male, but honestly I don’t see a problem. Lots of different brands and adverts
use sexual content to sell product and as far as I am concerned this is no
different. I don’t see an issue with
it, the women are not naked, or any rude parts on show. Where as there are many
adverts on TV with men in very little clothes, often-just underwear or with
shirts off… and that is perfectly acceptable?
