A jury in the US have come to the decision that Samsung owe
Apple $290m in damages, for copyright infringement on features of the iPhone
used on Samsung models. Samsung are likely to appeal the decision so it seems
that this battle is not over, and may stretch on through the future. It would
seem that in the court hearings Samsung didn't really bring a big argument and
in the end this is why the jury ruled against them, maybe they didn't bring a
leg to stand on because they were wrong.
These two companies have been at each other’s throats for
years and there will be many more years to come, with both companies being
forerunners in mobile phone innovation, more so Apple and then Samsung just
copying or should I say stealing.
I myself love Apple products, the attention to detail that
go into the crafting of their products is just amazing. To think that it would
be acceptable for another company to just steal the ideas is not right and it
is great to see something may finally be getting done about this.
Mobile phone design is a big market and it is very difficult
for companies not to step on one another’s toes, but if you want to stay competitive
and ahead of your competitors then you should not be stealing ideas. They need
to come up with something new and exciting.
